Mrs. Mazur received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University in 1985. When she realized she preferred teaching junior high students, she went back to school! Mrs. Mazur received a Master of Science degree in Junior High/Middle School Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University in 1989. The 2017-2018 school year may be her first year at Annunciation, but she has been teaching language arts and religion for the past twenty-nine years in the Chicago and Joliet Dioceses. Mrs. Mazur met her soulmate twelve years ago and she and Craig have been married since 2006. She has no children, (unless you count all the students in her classes over the years) but she is the “mother” to a Basset Hound/German Shepherd mix named Amber Lynn. Each summer, Mrs. Mazur attends the Smekens Literacy Retreat in order to find out about the newest strategies in English and Language Arts to share with her students.
